Typical bank charges

Sending money via a bank using SWIFT or telegraphic transfer almost always involves a deduction by the receiving bank and any intermediary banks. These deductions are typically between SGD10-20 and may be higher in some countries. This is on top of the sending banks' own charge.

The sending bank is likely to charge service fees, otherwise known as telex fees or cable charges. An average bank charges 1/8 % commission for a money transfer, plus an agent fee, plus a fixed cable charge.
